The IKARUS high-altitude circular trail is perfect for the whole family - thanks to wheelchair and pram-friendly paths, everyone can go on a tour here. Float up to the Bischling summit in comfort on the IKARUS cable car and then take a relaxing walk along the panoramic trail around the summit cross. A breathtaking view of 40 surrounding peaks included!
The tour takes you to the sunny side of the village. A picturesque forest and meadow path first takes you leisurely uphill towards a chapel, through shady forests and along sunny roads to the Hochmaisalm with a wonderful view of the Hochgründeck. Then it's a relaxed descent past the "Zan Hascht" alpine inn and the "Eulenberg". Back in the valley, a detour to the farm store for a delicious ice cream is of course a must!
This special tour offers magnificent nature and delicious stops on the way. Start at the hotel, from where you hike to the head of the Wengerau valley - scenery included! Continue to the Gamsblickalm and through the high moor to the Elmaualm. Here you have a choice: take a detour to the spectacular Werfener Hütte or continue directly to the Mahdegg Alm. At the end of the 16 kilometer route, you return to the hotel with fantastic views.

From May to October, the summer mountain lifts take you up the Bischling near Werfenweng - and even at a reduced price with a guest card! At 1,850 m, you can enjoy a 360° panorama over the Salzach Valley and over 40 peaks, ideal for hiking, mountain biking or stopping for a bite to eat. Our tip: As a guest at the aja Bergresort Werfenweng, you can use the Dorfbahn Rosnerköpfl free of charge in summer and enjoy the view over the Salzburger Land to the full at 1,147 m.
Cycling tours around Werfenweng

Short, crisp and not for the faint-hearted: This 12 kilometer tour is one of our favorites and starts directly at our resort. It starts with a steep ascent to the Hochmais-Alm, where a breathtaking panorama awaits you.
After a well-earned break, the descent takes you past the "zan Hascht" alpine inn - ideal for fortifying yourself with regional specialties. Freshly refueled, you then roll relaxed back to the mountain resort.
Off you go on a 15 kilometer round tour into the beautiful Salzach Valley! You start relaxed from our resort and cycle downhill into the river valley. At the lowest point, enjoy the gentle ride on the Tauern cycle path and the magnificent mountain views!
The way back leads through charming villages, and a stop in Pfarrwerfen is worthwhile: the parish churches and the open-air museum on the Sieben-Mühlen-Weg are perfect for recharging your batteries. Then it's uphill back to the Bergresort Werfenweng.
This e-bike tour takes you around the impressive Tennengebirge mountains. From our resort, you first head into the Salzach Valley, where you can explore the Hohenwerfen Fortress and the Salzachöfen. In Golling, you switch to the banks of the Lammer and cycle 35 kilometers moderately uphill with a view of the mountain scenery. A break at the Salettl in Lungötz gives you new strength before you head into the Fritzbachtal valley and then over the last climb back to Werfenweng. Well-deserved relaxation awaits you back at our resort!

And if the weather doesn't play along, the climbing hall in Werfen is available as an alternative!

The Steiger family's Oberegg horse farm offers riding experiences for all levels: from rides for children and beginners to riding lessons in the riding arena and a variety of rides through unspoiled nature, along rivers or along the mountain trail. Those who prefer a more leisurely ride can sit back in a horse-drawn carriage and be driven through the beautiful countryside. The carriage rides are also available in winter as a sleigh ride. GolfingNear to the aja Bergresort Werfenweng, the OPEN GOLF St. Johann Alpendorf course in St. Johann im Pongau awaits you with two 9-hole courses: the tournament course and the academy course. The two different courses offer golfers of all levels of experience the perfect conditions. Beginners feel particularly at home on the Orange Course, while the Blue Course offers the perfect challenge for club golfers. There is also a spacious driving range with covered teeing grounds, a putting green and a pitching green. Enjoying golf is a top priority here!

The Bischling is one of the most popular "flying mountains" for paragliders and hang-gliders. The cable car takes you comfortably to the summit, where the launch site is located in the immediate vicinity of the mountain station. Watch the professionals take off or take off yourself: together with an experienced pilot, you can soar over the mountains on a tandem flight and feel as free as a bird - the whole thing is also possible in winter over the snow-covered mountains.
